This explains what Tascade collects, why, and who can see it. The short version: Tascade knows your Minecraft username and UUID and the games you play. It never sees your Minecraft password or login token. This website has no accounts, cookies, analytics or ads.
Tascade is run by Coat_t. For anything about your data, email contact@tascade.net.
What the mod and server collect
- Your Minecraft identity. When you open Tascade, the mod asks Mojang's servers to confirm who you are, and we get your UUID and username from Mojang. Your password and login token stay between your game and Mojang.
- A sign-in key. A random key is saved on your computer (in
config/tascade.json) and on our server, so you don't have to sign in through Mojang on every launch. It expires after 7 days unused. - Your ratings. Elo, performance points, and when you last played.
- Your runs and matches. For each solo run and ranked match: the seed, the result, your times, splits and advancements, the pp and Elo it changed, your opponent, and when it was played.
- What happens in a ranked match. Your splits, advancements, race goals and the chat messages you send are passed to your opponent as you play, and saved with the match.
- Your IP address. Any connection needs one. The public API keeps it in memory for up to a minute to apply its rate limit. It isn't saved to the database, though our hosting provider may record it in its logs.
- Server logs. Events like sign-ins and match results are logged with your username, to keep things running and to fix problems.
What's public
Tascade has public leaderboards. Your username, UUID, skin, Elo, pp, ranks, stats, top plays, the splits of your best run, and your match history (including who you played) are shown on this website and in the mod's menus, and anyone can read them through the public API. Anything public can be copied by others.
Your match chat and your sign-in key are never made public.
This website
- No accounts, cookies, analytics or ads.
- Vercel, which hosts this site, receives the usual request details, like your IP address and browser, and may keep them in its logs.
- Player heads are loaded by your browser from mc-heads.net, which sees your IP address like any website you visit.
- When you search for a player, our server sends the name you typed to Mojang to find their UUID.
- Fonts are served by this site, not by Google.
How we use it
To run Tascade: sign you in, find you opponents, relay matches, work out ratings, and show leaderboards and history. We also use it to enforce the Terms of Service, which can mean reviewing runs and match chat for cheating or abuse, and to keep the servers running and secure. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
If you're in the EEA or the UK: we rely on our legitimate interest in running a competitive game with public leaderboards, and on providing the service you ask for when you play.
Who else handles it
- Mojang / Microsoft, to confirm your identity when you sign in and to look up usernames.
- Supabase, which stores the database.
- Railway, which hosts the Tascade server.
- Vercel, which hosts this website, and mc-heads.net for player heads.
- Your opponent, who sees your name, Elo, splits, advancements and chat during a ranked match.
- Discord, if the mod shows your Tascade activity there. That goes from the mod to the Discord app on your computer, not through our server, and Discord shows it according to your Discord settings.
- Anyone we're required by law to share it with.
These providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States.
How long we keep it
- Your profile, runs and matches: for as long as Tascade runs, since they make up the leaderboards and match history, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Sign-in keys: until 7 days after you last used them.
- IP addresses for the API's rate limit: under a minute.
- Logs: as long as our hosting providers keep them.
Your choices
- To remove your sign-in key from a computer, delete
config/tascade.jsonfrom your Minecraft folder. To stop sending anything, uninstall the mod. - To get a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted, email contact@tascade.net. Deleting removes your profile, runs and ratings. Matches you played are part of your opponents' history too, so we remove your name from them rather than the matches.
- Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as objecting to how your data is used or complaining to your data protection authority.
Children
Tascade isn't meant for children under 13. If you're under 13, or under the age where you can agree to this yourself where you live, ask a parent or guardian before playing. Parents who think their child's data is here can email us and we'll delete it.
Security
Sign-in keys are random and expire. The mod and this website never talk to the database directly; only the Tascade server does. No system is perfectly secure, though, so we can't promise your data will never be exposed.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
